Burgundy has a lot to offer!

The Burgundy region enjoys a reputation as one of France’s most impressive destinations for food and wine. But there are some stunning towns and villages to explore too. Here are some great locations to visit:

Autun

The beautifully preserved small Gallo-Roman town lies in central Burgundy at the gateway to the Morvan National Park.

Auxerre

Capital of the Yonne department, Auxerre sits atop a hill and is a marvel of small sidestreets and delightful open squares.

As the main town of the Cote d’Or department, Beaune has a delightful olde-worlde feel that attracts visitors in their thousands.

Village Life in France
Here are some topics covered recently:

Best Alpine Ski Resorts
It’s that time of year again. Shorter days, longer nights and a nip in the air all mean it’s time to decide which alpine ski resort to visit next. Here’s some information to help you get started.
Kitzbühel, Austria A jewel of the Austrian Tyrol, historic Kitzbühel is a great winter holiday destination for skiers and non-skiers alike. This historic thirteenth-century town is a scenic gem set amidst pretty valleys and partly wooded alpine slopes. Kitzbühel has plenty of off-slope activities to offer and a vibrant nightlife.

Money Saving in Paris
If you’re flying from the UK, then the first and easiest way to save money on a trip to Paris is to fly with one of the budget operators. It’s very easy to book online, and there should be a choice of destination airports. The lower cost airlines can either take you to the airport closest to the city – Charles de Gaulle, or to Beauvais which is between 50 and 60 miles away from the city – just over an hour in what is actually a very pleasant way to enter the city, since you get to see a lot of cool buildings as your coach makes its approach into the city.

Plan a Romantic Trip to Paris
Are you planning to spend a romantic week-end in the city of love? Only you and your sweetheart? One would definitely think about getting to the top of the Eiffel Tower, visiting the Louvre museum and strolling Champs-Elysees. The Notre-Dame and Sacre Coeur are surely must-sees as well. Romantic and relaxing Luxembourg Gardens blossoming in flowers, beautiful fountains, and statues will make your next stop. And certainly la Grande Roue ferris wheel located on Place de la Concorde square will be also on your list.

Top 5 Gardens in France
Although some of these gardens are familiar from Monty Don’s latest TV excursion to France, the Bagatelle Gardens were new to me! Robin on myMelange lists her top 5 famous gardens in France, they are:
