Feature Region: Languedoc Roussillon

As the tourists flock to the Med Coast, we are featuring the Languedoc-Roussillon region - the less expensive neighbour of Provence. The video below gives you a flavour of the diverse region. Flanked on the western side by Spain and the Pyrenees, it streches across the Med to the Camargue. The region is blessed with all year sun, and a diverse range of landscapes. There is much to admire from its Roman and Cathar heritage with fine examples of architecture. Do not be trapped by the miles of sandy beaches - do explore the hinterland for many surprises.

The Languedoc-Roussillon is divided up into areas (departments): Pyrenees-Orientales, Aude, Herault, Lozere and Gard
