French Property of the Week: Castle in the Gers((tag:Chateau,Gers,Midi-Pyrenees)

This beautifully restored castle is situated in the idyllic hills of the Gers region in the South West of France, offering perfect views of the Pyrenees mountain chain. While in an amazingly quiet, totally private and picturesque location it is at the same time close to golf and other sports facilities and only a few minutes from Marciac, center of a renowned international Jazz Festival. The original building that stood on the site dated back to before the Middle Ages, it was destroyed during the revolution and rebuilt in 1827.

When visiting it becomes immediately apparent that the current owners have put a lot of love and energy into this elegant residence by executing detailed and careful restoration work.
