New Solar Power Station in France

Despite France's reliance on Nuclear Power (over 75% of energy is generated by nuclear), it is committed to more Solar projects.

For example, in the Midi-Pyrenees, a new solar power station has just opened in Avignonet-Lauragais in the Haute-Garonne, covering an area of thirteen hectares and generating around 4.5 Mw.  This should be enough to supply the electricity needs of around 1750 homes in the area, excluding electric heating.

It does not have massive capability but at least the Midi-Pyrenees does seem committed to more solar energy generation - there are new projects in schools to generate electricity within the school campus.
