Soaring Prices in France

The Telegraph reports on soaring prices in France - especially in Energy costs. Brits living on sterling pensions or income are finding it very difficult. Some are contemplating returning to Blighty.

In Spain, for example, energy prices are 19pc higher than they were last March, while anyone living in France must deal with a 15pc increase. Other costs, such as food, are increasing too – food costs in Poland are up by 7pc since last year.

Of course, costs are rising in the UK as well, but British expats abroad are facing a triple whammy. As well as inflation, the euro’s continuing strength against the pound means that those who have income or savings from back home are finding that their money buys them less every day.
