British Buyers increasingly interested in European property markets

British buyers are increasingly choosing to purchase property in Europe rather than more distant destinations according to Rightmove. This is due to increased transport costs. The website showed an increase in searches for overseas property in May of 15.3% compared to April.

What about the French Market?
1st for French Property report that in May that the number of visitors increased to 59,752 against 47,481 in April. That is a 25% increase in the interest for French Property.

The French regions of the Dordogne, Limousin and Aquitaine are perennially popular, but even these received a massive increase in enquiries at 74% 39% and 47% respectively according to RightMove. 1st for French Property report that the most active regions where Provence, Brittany and Languedoc-Roussillon.

There could be a further boost now Sarkozy has lifted the threat of a second homes tax. This tax was due to be implemented in January 2012.
